Overview
In an increasingly competitive telecommunications market, it will take more than increased communication bandwidth to enable the broadband services and applications that telecom operators are counting on to secure new revenue streams. With the introduction of video applications, intelligent 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces (10GbE) with rich QoS features are becoming an essential element for practically every next generation network.
The V3000 family of single-width, half-height Advanced Mezzanine Cards (AMC) leverages AdvancedIO Systems' proven expertise to provide 10GbE connectivity for MicroTCA™ and AdvancedTCA® platforms in telecommunications, defense, and other embedded systems markets. The family is architected to be ideally suited for applications requiring wire-speed packet inspection and manipulation, which are essential functions for developing and deploying QoS and security functions. Its features include a hardware network search engine (NSE) to accelerate packet inspection, a large high-speed memory buffer for implementing packet queues, and programmable timers. Furthermore, the family supports the major switch fabrics for communication with the host and uses SFP+ technology to implement the front-panel optical 10 GbE interface.
